Description
This is Barbie’s Dream House from the late 1980s. It belonged to my daughter and it was lightly used. I recently cleaned and assembled it for the pictures. The only discoloration I noticed was on one of the floor pieces. There were two cracks that I noticed; one was the railing of the balcony and the other was one of the top roof pieces, both repaired with superglue. The most wear were the support covers, they are very fragile but only one is actually broken, some are cracked. I didn’t try to repair the broken one, I just angled the broken side to the inside of the house so it wasn’t obvious. The broken piece will be included. The instructions are included. Most of the decals/stickers survived including the stove, refrigerator, TVs, and the dining table. I have two stickers leftover and couldn’t figure where they belonged, you’ll find them in a plastic bag. The new owner will have to have patience to assemble as at least two of the center uprights are slightly warped; we advise using a rubber mallet to tap pieces into place. The refrigerator has a lot of food and bottles (see the pic) and the stove includes pots and pans. The bedroom includes an alarm clock and phone. Both beds include a piece of foam and bedcovers and pillows, the reversible headboard for Barbie’s bed is intact but a bit faded. The two dining room chairs include seatpads. Most of the plastic plants that fill the window boxes are included and intact. I included a few broken plants in case someone wants to try and recover them. The dining room table includes most of four place settings, it is missing one goblet and several silverware. The candelabra is broken and I didn’t attempt to repair it as I was sure it wouldn’t survive shipping; I’ll leave it to the new owner. There is a bag of screws and I assume they are all there; I didn’t use them when I assembled for the pictures but I’m sure I wouldn’t have missed any when I boxed this up so many years ago. I included a few odds and ends including what I think is the base for a lamp.
The wicker loungechair is intact but the wicker endtable lost two legs – if you wanted to, you could snap off the other two legs and just have a shorter table. The dining room table was disassembled for shipping but I chose to leave both chairs assembled; I wasn’t sure I could safely disassemble but they are carefully wrapped. Both of the entry lights for the front door are intact (see pic). There is one missing frontdoor and two missing windows on the back. Some of the windows were left in place when I packed up because they were so flipping hard to get in; the plastic isn’t as pliable as it once was. The clear plastic doors were easy to put in and they fit well; the two pale pink lattice doors were easy to put in but don’t fit into the frame well; I couldn’t see what the problem was so it might be they came from the manufacturer that way.
Please examine all the pictures. Ebay only allows 12 pictures but I have more; if you have any questions or want more pictures, please ask.
The house is packed in three boxes and all pieces are carefully wrapped in bubble wrap or foam. There will be three separate boxes which makes it impossible for the buyer to determine the exact shipping cost, ebay doesn’t allow for multiple packages. You may email me with your zipcode and I can give a more exact shipping cost. Once you make the purchase, you MUST WAIT for an invoice before paying.
ESTIMATE ONLY via USPS ground: To NYC, approx. 0. To Chicago, approx. 6. To Sacramento, approx. 0. Free local pickup if you're in Arizona. Priority shipping will be substantially more.
